BOOK ONE IN THE CHAOS SERIES

I’m Still Here…

Some people survive by learning how not to need anyone. Some people survive by refusing to let go.

Nyra has spent years building herself out of sharp edges, sketchbooks, skateboards, and whatever strength she can scrape together when the world gets too loud. She knows how to keep moving. She knows how to make pain look like attitude. What she does not know is what to do when someone finally sees through all of it.

Mara is carrying fractures of her own. She is not coming into Nyra’s life to save her, and Nyra is not waiting around to be rescued. They are simply two people trying to stay upright long enough to discover that maybe surviving does not always have to mean surviving alone.

I’m Still Here… is a gritty, warm story about trauma, connection, punk hearts, and the people who refuse to let each other disappear.

THE HEART OF BOOK ONE

Meet Nyra & Mara

Two people carrying different kinds of wreckage. Neither one is looking for rescue. Both are trying to figure out what happens when somebody stays long enough to become real.

NYRA

Sharp edges. Still hoping.

Nyra learned a long time ago how to survive.

She moves through the world with her guard already up, carrying more beneath the surface than she lets anyone see. The skate shop gives her somewhere solid to stand. Sketching gives her somewhere to put the things she cannot say. And when everything inside her gets too loud, she knows how to turn pain into motion.

What Nyra does not know how to do is let somebody close enough to matter.

Mara changes that.

Suddenly, being seen is not an abstract idea. It is terrifyingly real. And for someone who has spent so long bracing for people to leave, wanting someone to stay might be the most frightening thing of all.

Skateboards. Sketchbooks. Sharp edges. A heart trying very hard not to admit it still hopes.

MARA

Warmth without illusion.

Mara does not arrive with answers.

She arrives with her own hurt, her own fears, and her own reasons for wanting to disappear when things become too much.

What makes Mara different is that she keeps reaching anyway.

She and Nyra do not fix each other. They stumble, retreat, misread each other, and sometimes hurt in ways neither of them knows how to explain. But underneath all of it is something stubborn and real. The desire to be known. The need to feel safe enough to fall apart. The quiet hope that someone might still be there afterward.

When Mara admits that she does not want to be alone, the space between them finally begins to collapse.

Warmth without illusion. Strength without armor. Someone learning that staying can be an act of courage.

They are not a perfect love story.

They are scared people making imperfect choices while trying to believe they are allowed to want something better.

Their connection grows in the spaces between breakdowns, late-night conversations, almost-kisses, shared silence, and those rare moments when neither of them pretends to be okay.

At the center of I’m Still Here… is a simple, difficult thing: two people learning how to say, I see you. And learning to believe the answer might be, I’m still here.

A STORY ABOUT STAYING

Survival gets you through the door.

It does not automatically teach you what comes afterward.

I’m Still Here… lives in that messy space between surviving and actually living. It is about learning that healing can be ugly, love can be frightening, and found family does not erase the past.

Sometimes it just gives you people willing to sit beside you while you carry it.

Some stories are about falling apart.
This one is also about who stays.
